ICM Power™ is CMS’ proprietary product offering designed specifically for Independent Contractor Management (ICM). ICM Power assists in greatly reducing exposure with legal challenges and on-going administrative burdens that come along with properly managing Independent Contractors (ICs). ICM Power also helps a company timestamp, record and audit every transaction occurring in their business relationship with an IC. Reducing risk, increasing profitability and providing detailed documentation is the bedrock of the technology and is a powerful defense against the current threats now facing the Independent Contractor Model.

Administration
CMS acts as the payer of record including processing IC settlements and issuing 1099s. CMS also coordinates new hire reporting with all state and federal agencies, which includes the automated handling of garnishments, such as tax liens and child support. Methods of distribution include the convenience of direct deposit and debit card at NO additional cost.
On-Boarding/Enrollment
ICM Power’s On-Boarding Solution completely streamlines IC enrollment by permitting ICs to register online; allowing for an activation code that is uniquely specific to a location and/or enrollment package while incorporating your best practices which are authorized by a representative of your company. ICM Power eliminates human error and the often arduous task of ensuring that all contractual information has been properly captured.

ICM Power's integrated solution will automatically verify the IC's information, in real time, by accessing public records from the Internal Revenue Service, United States Postal Service, Department of Motor Vehicles, and LexisNexis®. After receiving information back, specific to each IC, you will have the option of conducting further background screening or simply be notified of completion.
Processing Settlement
The ICM Power Settlement Solution fully integrates multiple ICM Power features to properly settle and distribute payments to ICs. It is a completely electronic system that captures data from a variety of sources including spreadsheets, manual online entry, file uploads, and the ICM Power web portal. The ICM Power Settlement Solution is comprehensive, calculating the commissions owed to ICs who provide services to your company, less any itemized deductions, garnishments or liens. Methods of distribution include the convenience of direct deposit and debit card at NO additional cost.
Interactive Negotiation
ICM Power's Interactive Negotiation Solution enables online discussions between you and the ICs, capturing and documenting mutually agreeable commission rates. In the event of a challenge, you will have the evidence needed to prove a negotiation did occur.

In addition, the ICM Power Interactive Negotiation Solution links into the ICM Power E-signature platform so that all negotiations, acceptance, and/or denial can be performed online by both the client and the IC.
Tracking & Alerts
The ICM Power Tracking & Alerts Solution allows clients to track date sensitive items that are critical and necessary for documenting client relationships with ICs. In many cases, these items are directly tied to contractual requirements. Our solution allows for efficient tracking of documents and expiration dates with customized notification intervals such as 60, 45, 30, 15 and 0 days before expiration, as well as, post-expiration date alert opportunities. By using our flexible and powerful Tracking & Alerts Solution, all critical documents relevant to your IC relationships will be properly documented, tracked and auditable for future reference.
Document Push
The ICM Power Document Push Solution gives clients the ability to send on-demand documents to ICs. Once you push a document, the IC will receive a notification through ICM Power's Alert System. The IC can then simply review and e-sign the document. This streamlined process allows you to update ICs with new information quickly and efficiently.
Benefits to ICs
ICs have the ability to create and customize their profiles by uploading photos and setting up their bios. IC WEB also provides an IC with the ability to view their settlement and 1099 history, access critical information and upload personal and business-related documents. The IC will have the ability to view commissions and deductions 1.5 days prior to receiving settlement. Additionally, ICs have the capability to run a customized report showing their deductions to assist their tax account with the necessary data.

Insurance
CMS' Three-Legged Stool consists of Non-Auditable Workers' Compensation, Contingent Liability and Occupational Accident Insurance. The combination works to eliminate your exposure as it relates to workers' compensation premiums charged for the ICs whose services you use.

By having all three policies (Occupational Accident, Workers' Compensation and Contingent Liability), any workers' compensation claim that may arise is quickly addressed, so the injured individual is made whole.
IC Direct
ICM Power's IC Direct uses an enrollment workflow engine to integrate with a variety of service providers to offer background screening solutions to ICM Power clients. Through this collaborative effort, ICM Power manages data flow to ensure that clients locate qualified ICs while drastically reducing the typical administrative burden. Screening services can be customized based on client specifications for various locations, customer requirements and materials being handled.

ICM Power automates pre-screening operations by facilitating the entire workflow around the business rules surrounding the process. This ensures that qualifications and requirements are satisfied prior to an IC being contracted. In addition, ICM Power allows the fees associated with background screening to be handled through either settlement deduction or IC credit card authorization.
Document Management
CMS' ICM Power Document Manager is a powerful tool that gives CMS the ability to load and digitally capture critical information needed to distribute to ICs based upon client requirements. Now you can effortlessly collect information from, and distribute data to, ICs, based on key parameters such as location, variable conditions and client-specific packages. What's more, these documents can adhere to a lifecycle and be set for a pre-determined expiration date, at which time all parties are automatically alerted.
IC WEB
IC WEB is ICM Power's self-service website, which provides ICs with information and tools to manage and improve their businesses. With a unique username and password, each IC has secure access to industry-specific benefits and discounted programs that advance an IC's business and experience.

Audit Trail
ICM Power's Audit Trail tracks every action performed by an IC in the system. All activities including opening and uploading documents, navigating pages, time spent on each page, signature capture, alert notification and scheduled expiration dates are properly recorded and timestamped, creating comprehensive and evidenced use of ICM Power.

The Audit Trail is a legal record and acknowledgement of the IC's use of ICM Power. The comprehensive footprint produced in the event of a challenge allows a client to produce evidence outlining the intent of the relationship and the mutually agreed upon terms and conditions of the contract.
Electronic Signature
ICM Power's Electronic Signature Solution allows the IC to complete all documents online through the adoption of a unique electronic signature, having the same authoritative affect as their hand-written signature. To maintain security and authenticity, ICM Power generates a 25-digit unique character code that is associated with each IC.

ICs begin the process by logging into ICM Power and completing required information. ICM Power’s integrated solution will automatically verify the IC’s information, in real time, by accessing public records from the Internal Revenue Service, United States Postal Service, Department of Motor Vehicles, and LexisNexis®. This information, along with their credit history, will generate questions specific to that IC. Not only does this extra level of security speed up the enrollment process, it also protects you from touching sensitive personal information. The end result provides a paperless solution for your business and facilitates an automated workflow.
Audit Services
CMS offers operational audits to companies that use the services of ICs. This service includes a team of CMS professionals that will visit your facilities, interview your staff and meet with ICs servicing your customers. CMS will also review the processes surrounding your Independent Contractor Model. The focus of the audit process is to highlight unnecessary risks and costs associated with your company's use of ICs. Once these areas are identified, CMS will recommend a plan that includes cost and risk reductions coupled with a shift towards industry best practices.
Tech Support (Bilingual)
ICM Power technical support is staffed by friendly and courteous English and Spanish speaking representatives. They are well versed on our products, services, and software and are available to assist clients as well as ICs. We provide support on anything from working through the enrollment process, navigating ICM Power, settlement questions, various benefits/discounted programs and much more. Before, during and after a transition to a program like CMS, it is important to have guidance and support every step of the way. We are available Monday thru Friday, 8-6 PM EST. We provide support via online live chat, email, telephone and various supportive videos.
Custom Training Videos
CMS can customize training videos for your staff and insert 'how to' videos for the ICs, simplifying and improving their experience with ICM Power. We will ensure your staff is fully trained and using their CMS Client Portal to its fullest potential, reducing your administrative burden. We have also created videos for frequently asked questions to provide ICM Power users with fast, simple explanations of how to enroll or how to access their settlement history, giving the IC the power to truly manage their own business.
Custom Workflow Development
CMS will customize the ICs enrollment according to your documents and the information you need collected. Our system is integrated with the IRS, DMV, USPS, and LexisNexis® as well as a full service background screening company, adding another layer of protection for our clients. We can also activate additional modules such as Interactive Negotiation or background checks, further streamlining enrollment. An IC can electronically complete their enrollment and be in compliance in approximately 15 minutes. Their enrollment package will be stored electronically, eliminating packets of paperwork and physical driver files.
Data Storage & Security
ICM Power is a modular Software-as-a-Service (SAAS) solution distributed across multiple data centers geographically located throughout North America. By leveraging the flexibility, security and redundancies offered through our implementation of Cloud Based Infrastructure, CMS has streamlined our IT framework and is providing ironclad protection and superior performance to our clients. Specific to our philosophy to protect sensitive client and IC information, CMS' equipment is segmented by resources and divided into separate subnets by department and protected by our firewall. Access to information is only available after proper authentication and is subject to our standard password complexity and account lockout policies. Additionally, our firewall provides inline IPS and AV scanning. Known attempts to compromise services are intercepted and logged with hourly signature updates from a Fortinet security appliance.

Our data protection and backup & recovery solution implements Dell's "Best in Breed" AppAssure product. The system performs whole server snapshots taken daily and stored on a farm of backup servers. Those daily snapshots are rolled up into a weekly snapshot every seven days. Next those weeklies are rolled into a monthly snapshot each month. Finally, those monthlies are rolled up into annuals. CMS also has a private link to another datacenter where we store replicas of our backups. The primary environment holds a current copy of the last 30 days of backups as well as a permanent copy of all yearly rollups. Data at this site is stored on two independent storage arrays to not only mitigate the risk associated with hardware failure but also guard against file corruption.

Further security is facilitated by logging all firewall traffic to a FortiAnalyzer appliance, which aggregates logs and provides us the ability to search historical traffic patterns. It also allows us to unequivocally prove whether an IP made a connection to our datacenter in addition to what other IPs/ports they accessed during that time.

Training for clients and orientation for ICs is available online and live internet chat. CMS continually adds to a library of educational sessions available through our website. These short sessions are recorded from live educational meetings and cover a variety of subjects incorporating modules of ICM Power which include Registration, Enrollment, Tracking & Alerts, Interactive Negotiation and many more. Live internet sessions are also available and can be customized for specific audiences and conveniently scheduled.
